Ladies and gentlemen, the wait is over – we are absolutely chuffed to bits to announce The Flaming Lips as our Saturday night headliners for Green Man 2010!

Wayne Coyne and co. will be beaming onto the main stage from their own weird and wonderful sonic planet armed to the teeth with songs from their acclaimed new double album Embryonic - plus a selection of classics from legendary long players The Soft Bulletin, Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots and At War With The Mystics.

Has there been a more frazzled, brilliantly warped and downright sing-a-longable band to emerge in the past 15 years? Is there a more visually mind-blowing live act playing anywhere in the solar system today? We don’t think so…

Even by the Oklahoma band’s ludicrously high standards Embryonic is epic. Featuring 18 songs split across two discs with guest appearances from the likes of MGMT and Karen O from The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, the album has rightly been hailed as a classic in waiting.

Tickets for Green Man 2010 (August 20, 21, 22) go on sale today – that’s TODAY people – just in time for Christmas (how thoughtful). Adult tickets are £120 for the full weekend; Student’s £104 and Teen’s £50 – Holiday tickets are available for £35!
